Sheriff Volunteer Opportunities

The Hanover County Sheriff's Office has an excellent Volunteer Program offering many opportunities for citizens to enhance public safety and the quality of life in our community. Volunteers are specially trained and dedicated to provide service to the Hanover County Sheriff's Office. Currently we are seeking motivated individuals to join our team and are urging individuals with all types of special skills to apply and take an active role in the public safety of the county we all love.


  • Completion of Hanover Sheriff’s Office Citizens Police Academy
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Background investigation
  • Good standing in the community
  • Minimum age restrictions may apply to certain assignments

  • Law Enforcement Cadet Unit 606
