Hanover, VA – On Saturday, October 21, 2017, the Sheriff’s Office hosted our second Fall Fellowship Festival. Over 100 community organizations participated in the event, as well as hundreds of volunteers who helped with planning and logistics. We would like to thank all of our community partners and employees who made this event a huge success!
Thousands of members of our community had the opportunity to connect with our community partners and members of the Sheriff’s Office. Our community partners were also able to meet each other and learn more about other organizations within Hanover County. Prior to this community event, the Sheriff’s Office was able to reach over 280,000 citizens in the region with a positive message through the use of social media and radio broadcast. We are confident that through this event, many new partnerships were formed and that the abundance of resources available to our citizens was highlighted.
We would also like to thank the EJ Wade Foundation, which sponsored incredible live music and entertainment from local musicians Kevin Mac, Bethany Gates, The Arise Band and a dance group from The Richmond Filipino Class.
This event was designed to celebrate volunteerism and partnerships in our community, which continue to make Hanover County a safe place to live, work and raise a family. “Saturday proved what we have always known to be true. Strong partnerships create safe communities. This is a natural source of strength for our community. We are incredibly grateful to our citizens, our community partners, volunteers and Sheriff’s Office staff that helped make this event such a wonderful success,” said Colonel David R. Hines, sheriff.
