Hanover, VA – On Thursday, November 29, 2018, deputies responded to the 6300 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike for a report of a larceny from a vehicle. It was determined that a vehicle had its window smashed and property stolen.
Then again, on December 5, 2018, the same type of incident occurred in the 9400 block of Atlee Commerce Boulevard. A victim reported having a vehicle window smashed and property stolen.
Investigators continue to process evidence and are seeking the suspects in these cases.

These criminals tend to victimize citizens while their vehicles are left unattended at gyms, churches, daycare centers and shopping centers. The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office strongly urges you to lock your vehicle(s), remove your keys and hide or remove all valuables any time your vehicle is unattended. The Sheriff’s Office also requests our citizens to remain vigilante and if suspicious activity is observed, please contact the Hanover County Emergency Communications Center immediately. This is a crime of opportunity.
