Hanover, Va. – On Sunday, November 3, 2019, at approximately 12:01 pm, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash involving at pedestrian on Mechanicsville Turnpike prior to Bell Creek Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that an SUV was travelling east on Mechanicsville Turnpike struck the pedestrian in the roadway. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene for fire-ems and law enforcement. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance and pronounced deceased at the hospital. The pedestrian will not be identified until proper notification is made to the family. Investigators are still collecting information to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
