Hanover, Va. – On Sunday, May 8, 2022, at approximately 3:06 p.m., deputies responded to the 9400 block of East Patrick Henry Road for a reported shooting.
Once on scene deputies determined that a shooting had taken place and both the suspect and victim had fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Descriptions of the suspect and victim were obtained and quickly given out to deputies in the area. Shortly after, deputies located the suspect, Marshall Travis Wooten, on East Patrick Henry Road and he was taken into custody by deputies without incident.
Deputies also located the victim and found him to be suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was subsequently transported by Hanover Fire-EMS to VCU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Marshall Travis Wooten, 31, of Ashland, has since been charged with Attempted Murder, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is currently being held at Pamunkey Regional Jail with no bond.
