UPDATE – On Monday, September 5, 2022, at approximately 4 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Mountain Road and Overhill Lake Road in reference to a road rage incident where shots were fired.
After a thorough investigation, the green Dodge pickup was located and a suspect has been positively identified.
Christopher Nicholas Chivily is currently wanted by the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office for Attempted Murder (F), Shooting from a Vehicle (F), Shooting at an Occupied Vehicle (F), Possession of a Firearm after being Voluntarily Committed (F) and Vandalism (M).
Chivily is believed to be in the Goochland area operating a green 2003 Chevy Silverado, bearing Virginia tags TZG-8575. As he is also believed to be in possession of a firearm, he should be considered armed and dangerous. A photograph of Chivily is attached.

Hanover, Va. – On Monday, September 5, 2022, at approximately 4 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Mountain Road and Overhill Lake Road in reference to a road rage incident where shots were fired.
Once on scene, deputies met with the victim and observed damage to their vehicle from apparent multiple gunshots. Thankfully, no injuries occurred as a result of this incident.
The suspect vehicle is described as a green 1990s model Dodge pickup. At the time of this incident, there was a motorcycle in the bed of the pickup. At least two individuals occupied the vehicle.
