Hanover, Va. – On Sunday, March 5, 2023, at approximately 11:07 p.m., deputies responded to the 7200 block of Brooking Way for a single vehicle crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Mazda 4-door sedan was traveling on Brooking Way when it left the roadway and collided head on into a tree.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Cassie Theresa Sampson, 39, of Ashland, was transported by Hanover Fire-EMS to VCU Medical Center. Due to her injuries, Sampson was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Investigators are still collecting information to determine the circumstances that led to this crash.
