Update: Samuel W. Moore has been located safe and has been reunited with his family.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our sincere appreciation the media for their efforts in quickly communicating this information to the public. We would also like to thank all of the citizens who shared this information on social media.

HANOVER, Va. – The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help with locating a missing juvenile with autism.

Samuel W. Moore, 12, was last seen in the area of the 14000 block of Broddies Trail, Ashland, at approximately 10:15 AM. Moore is described as a white male, 5’9”, 130-145 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He may be wearing a black hooded jacket and dark colored jeans. Moore may be carrying a mesh backpack.

Anyone with information as to if they provided Samuel Moore a ride, saw him walking, or know of his whereabouts, is asked to contact the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at (804) 365-6140 or the Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637 (CRIMES), using the keyword “iTip” followed by their tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
